Dear you

breather

It's been about a week since I last updated on things here.. I still can't view my own blog or anyone elses. To make things worse, my laptop keeps screwing up and I can't access the internet with it. So I'm now using my dads' powerbook- one of the rarer opprtunities around here.

Quite alot has been happening lately, I've been pretty busy around the studio. Running errands.. Photoshopped some Ford cars.. Watched a real model fashion shoot. Shot many models myself..

:D ..Yes- I've been doing model castings these two days. Hee. It's like the interview shoot for them to be selected by the clients later on. My first go at it was yesterday, where the requirements were just simple poses. Plus, they were caucasians which meant they spoke english at least. About 6 of 'em. So it was pretty simple. Kinda fun and cool.. And hot ;D

But today. Hwah. Well firstly, things were heating up among the staffs. Started yesterday due to datelines approaching I guess. Basically, things weren't so pleasant today. Quite ugly in fact.

Now the fun part.. I was told to handle another casting session on my own today. So okay- waited till afternoon for them to come. Suddenly a whole bunch of models arrived at one shot. Not cool. The place wasn't setup properly and I wasn't very prepared. The rest of the staff who could help were already either busy shooting somewhere else or at a meeting. So the shoot started off pretty rocky. Thankfully some other staff came to help. Slowly there were more and more models waiting for their turn. Pressure was on.. Worst thing was that all of them were Chinese, and the shoot required quite a few specific poses. So altogether I think I shot a little less than 20 models today- and all with me having to speak my stuper powderful chaaiiinese! But it was pretty fun la, after I got the hang of it. Whole session lasted almost 4 hours till 8pm. So yesh, thats quite an accomlishment for me :D

That's about all thats interesting to tell you guys about. I'm pretty much disconnected from everyone I know in Sunny Island now :( JC has started.. Oh, oh!- I had this really weird dream last night! I dreamt that I went back to primary school to study, together with teh 2E4 people. I dreamt that we didn't get caught for haircheck even though our hair was super long, and we could paint circles on the walls..

Hmm..

Shanghai'ed!

Alright, I'm at my dad's studio with wireless available. Couldn't get the internet working back at the apartment last night. Anyway, I'm using a new laptop so lotsa stuff are still missing. I can't view my own blog, or anyone else's. So I just hope this post comes out right.

Arrived in Shanghai yesterday morning and my first thought was "COLD!!@#". It's still the cold season so thank God I brought my ultra-tapered long johns, ha. Had dinner last night at Sake Sushi- btw all plates on the um, moving sushi belt, cost S$1.20 :P Went to a massage parlor after that- a first for me. It was perhaps the weirdest hour or so I've ever spent lying down, but it was somewhat relaxing. At least it wasn't those parlors with smelly chinese oils or big macho men/women practising their submission moves on you.

This morning I was greeted with a very pleasant sms- I've been posted to TP Visual Comm :D Finally, this is the real reward for all the "blood, sweat and tears" put in last year- to get into the school of your chioce. I guess it's true- "Those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy". Gaybrielite moment there..

I'm just glad that I can finally acess the internet and MSN. It sucks to be disconnected from all your friends and brudders.. I'm already missing my guitars, fishing, YF'ers etc- all the things back Home. I miss having to turn on the fan/aircon because I was feeling warm. Here, it's not seldom that I can hardly feel my fingers- even indoors. The sky is rarely clear- the sun is seldom visible, and everywhere's grey when you walk on the streets. And the chinese.. :/

Things have been okay here at the studio. The staff are nice to me. I've been learning from this big guy called whom we all the staff call "Xiao Pang". He's big. We've been shooting little Shiseido cosmetic products today, so at least I've learnt some lighting tips and stuff.. They'll be shooting live flying birds tmr so I'm looking forward to that. But I'm looking forward more to getting my dang ipod repaired. It's been spoiled for a month :|

Man, I love my laptop. I love technology. Good thing I brought my warcraft CD's along with me as well :D

I guess it's not all that unbearable.. Well, thats all for now.

Updaaateee!

It's just been confirmed a few days ago that I'll be flying off to Shanghai on Monday morning, 17th.

I'm kinda half-hearted about leaving, since these last 2 months or so may well be my last care-free holiday. This trip to Shanghai isn't a vacation. I'm gonna be like an intern at my dad's studio learning the ropes of this fast-paced, demanding business of commercial photography. I don't know how this can help me at this point in my life but ohwhattheheck. Maybe I'll master Photoshop and photography. Besides, it's too late to cancel the flight booking already. But it doesn't help that my chinese totally sucks- and I have my D7 to prove it.

I may be gone for 3 weeks, max. I'm so gonna miss my guitar, fishing, jamming, bballing.. and all you lovely people. I'll also be missing Salt 1. I was looking forward to palying all the funfun games that we've planned. Dang. I hope the rest can manage with one person short of the team. There are still a handful of nitty-gritty inconveniences that this trip will bring about.

So I'll be making the most of my last few days here. I'm cramming everything that this holiday should be all about into four days, making use of every opportunity to get at it. Which is why I'll be waking up at 5am later for FISHINGG :D

I've got a good feeling today! Big fish, big fish!

These pictures taken with my phone don't justify the experience but hell yeah you get the idea. It was money well spent, easily the best concert I've ever attended. Huah I'm just soo glad I went haha. Didn't feel too good after the show though, but I managed to resist the urge to puke till I got home. Maybe it was all the jumping and screaming and singing and yelling and jumping and...

Poogh I'm beat and I need my sleep.
All because my dream came true :D
